Kala Pan Pacific Deluxe Soprano Ukulele Must See Before They Sell Out
Kala Pan Pacific Deluxe Soprano Ukulele is one of those rare releases that shows up… and then disappears almost overnight. That’s exactly what happened the first time Kala dropped these, and honestly, I was pretty bummed I didn’t get a chance to give you a heads up before they were gone.
But now they’re back—and if history repeats itself, they won’t be around for long.
In this video, I put the original version up against the reissue, doing a side-by-side sound comparison and taking a close look at what’s different and what’s stayed the same.
Kala Pan Pacific Deluxe Soprano Ukulele Original vs Reissue
When Kala first released these as part of their anniversary lineup, they dropped both the all-solid koa version and this Pan Pacific series at the same time. And just like that… they were gone.
This time around, the reissue brings a small but interesting change.
The original version featured all solid koa front, back, and sides. The new version keeps that beautiful solid koa top, but pairs it with mahogany back and sides. Visually, they’re incredibly close—so much so that at first glance, you might not even notice the difference.
But if you look a little closer, the mahogany has a slightly tighter grain, the newer version has a darker edge that really pops, and both still feature that same unique badge and overall design aesthetic.
It’s one of those cases where Kala didn’t reinvent the wheel—they just gave it a slightly different flavor.
Sound Comparison and What to Expect
Tone-wise, these two are very, very similar.
That classic soprano sound is front and center—bright, traditional, and instantly recognizable as “ukulele.” But there are a few subtle differences.
The mahogany back and sides seem to add a touch of warmth, while the all koa version has that slightly more uniform, classic koa response. Both project really well for a soprano.
Honestly, it’s not a night-and-day difference. It’s more of a nuance thing—something you’ll appreciate the more you play.
And that’s part of what makes these so cool. You’re getting a premium build with tone that still feels true to the roots of the instrument.
Why Soprano Ukuleles Still Matter
I’ll be honest—most of the time you see me playing, it’s a tenor or a baritone. That’s just where I tend to live these days.
But the soprano? That’s where it all started.
This is the sound people hear in their head when they think “ukulele.” It’s super portable, perfect for travel, beach days, camping, or just hanging out, and it has that classic, nostalgic tone that made so many of us fall in love with the instrument in the first place.
Playing this again reminded me why the soprano deserves more love and attention.
It’s simple, it’s fun, and it just works.
Act Fast Because These Won’t Stick Around
If there’s one thing I can say with confidence—it’s this:
The last batch disappeared almost immediately.
And I would be very surprised if these hang around much longer.
If you’re even thinking about picking one up, don’t wait. Seriously. Even if you have to pause the video and come back later… go grab it first.
These are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Kala Pan Pacific Deluxe Soprano Ukulele Before They Sell Out

Most importantly… these won’t last.
If this one caught your ear, or your eye, I wouldn’t sit on it too long.
